Movie Synopsis:
A police task force traps an online predator, only to discover that the depth of his crimes goes far beyond anything they had anticipated.
The good things in this movie:
Henry Cavill somehow gives a good performance with material as bad as this, proving my argument that he is a legitimately good actor.

But especially, the performance by Brendan Fletcher. The director for some reason let him dial it up all the way to 100 playing someone with a mental disability thinking that its a good performance, but it comes across as laughable and borderline offensive. It’s like if Simple Jack from Tropic Thunder was a real movie. Its horrendous, and caused many audience members to snicker.
Verdict: this movie is pretty terrible and hopefully David Raymond can improve on his next feature because he seemed like a nice guy when he introduced the film.

A horror movie with qualities of a Grimm fairy tale, it stars a sublimely sinister Robert Mitchum as a traveling preacher named Harry Powell (he of the tattooed knuckles), whose nefarious motives for marrying a fragile widow, played by Shelley Winters, are uncovered by her terrified young children. Graced by images of eerie beauty and a sneaky sense of humor, this ethereal, expressionistic American classic—also featuring the contributions of actress Lillian Gish and writer James Agee—is cinema’s most eccentric rendering of the battle between good and evil.
The Night of the Hunter was restored by the UCLA Film & Television Archive in cooperation with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc., with funding provided by Robert Sturm and The Film Foundation.
Henry Cavill Races Against Time to Hunt Down a Serial Killer in Trailer for Night Hunter
In a PEOPLE exclusive look at the trailer for his new film Night Hunter, the 36-year-old actor stars as police detective Marshall who, alongside local vigilante Cooper (Sir Ben Kingsley) arrests a serial killer, Simon, targeting women.
But not everything is at it seems once the killer is in police custody. As another detective, Rachel (Alexandra Daddario) begins to question Simon, she discovers his game of targeting women is also aimed at the police investigating the case.
“You know when you’re in bed alone and the lights are off, you can’t see anything. The people I chase, they live in the dark,” Marshall says.
“I’m not surprised by what you’re up against,” Cooper tells Marshall. “The endless voice in a predator’s head that goes, ‘Do it, do it, do it.’”
As detectives rush to stop Simon’s plan, Rachel warns him, “This is not a game.”
“It is and you can never get away,” he tells her.
The film also stars Minka Kelly, Stanley Tucci, Nathan Fillion, Brendan Fletcher and Emma Tremblay.
Night Hunter premieres on DIRECTV on Aug. 8 and will be in theaters and On Demand Sept. 6.
